Starting 1 mile further up the canal, we paddled up the aqueduct, across the 400m span of the aqueduct, then turned around and paddled back to our staring position. The aqueduct was built in 1805 and is 126ft high, there is approximately 6 inches of iron from the water line to the top of the barrier.
