Palace - Sausages - Rain
Our good run of weather since hitting Europe mainland ended - it was cold and wet (and even hailed one afternoon) during our 2 full days in Berlin. This curtailed our exploration somewhat. We did manage to visit Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenberg Gate, as well as the espionage museum (which had a fun laser beam activity the kids enjoyed).
Our second full day saw us visit the Charlottenburg - much less grand than some of the the palaces we have visited during the past few months but pretty none the less.

Water park - Air ship hanger
We surprised the kids with a trip to Tropical Islands Water park, located in an air ship hanger south of Berlin. It is an indoor water park with pools, water slides, restaurants, and hotel rooms all housed in an old hanger. It is kept warm (~29c) and humid (~60%) inside with the water heated to near bathtub temperatures (~32c) - made it very nice, especially given outside was windy and around 8-15c.
