Farm Animals - rain - waterfall
We spent 2 nights in the Brecon Beacons in a barn conversion cottage. The accommodation was super cute and turned out they had chickens and pigs so the kids were able to help feed them every morning.
We had planned to hike Pen-Y-Fan mountain however, the one full day we had was raining all day and cloud had set in so we couldn’t even see the top, advice from someone on their way down was not to bother as conditions at the top were not pleasant.

Aquaduct - 126ft high - canoe
We took a canoe tour of the Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Starting 1 mile further up the canal, we paddled up the aqueduct, across the 400m span of the aqueduct, then turned around and paddled back to our staring position. The aqueduct was built in 1805 and is 126ft high, there is approximately 6 inches of iron from the water line to the top of the barrier.

Cottage - Planes - Hills
We rented a National Trust cottage in Snowdonia for 3 days which was amazing! It was surrounded by hills and sheep and the views were great (especially in the morning with a coffee). We soon found out the RAF uses the valley for flight training so we had various military planes and helicopters flying past quite low - including some fighter jets which was amazing, if not disruptive as every time we heard one (usually with very little warning as they were so fast), we would all rush out to watch it go past.
